Regional Training Course on uncertainty estimations for radiation measurements in secondary standard dosimetry laboratories in Vienna during the period 3-7.4.2017
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is organizing a regional training course on uncertainty estimations for radiation measurements in secondary standard dosimetry laboratories under the ARASIA TC project (RAS/6/084) entitled "Harmonising Radiation Dosimetry Practices through the Enhancement of Metrology and Quality Management for Secondary Standards Dosimetry Laboratories".
The course will be part of an event organized by the Dosimetry and Medical Radiation Physics Section, Division of Human Health. The event will attended by candidates engaged in SSDL activities from all over the world. The course will be a very good opportunity for the ARASIA candidates to share experience with other candidates working in the same field. The course will provide participants practical information for preparing uncertainty estimations for the calibrations preformed in SSDLs.
This course also will provide the participants an understanding of the methods used for the assessment of the various uncertainty components and will provide guidance on how to report measurement uncertainty related to their calibration services in a way that is consistent with the Guideline for Uncertainty Measurements (GUM). The candidates will learn, using tutorials adapted to practical examples, how to prepare the uncertainty budget.
